Inviting someone into your home can feel personal, especially when you're asking for help with a space that feels overwhelming. So ask away.
Here are answers to some of the questions we hear most often about cleaning, estimates, decluttering, scheduling, and what you can expect from Bandana Girl Cleaning Co.
And if you're wondering whether your house is βtoo messyβ for us, we'll save you some scrolling: No. It isn't. π
Absolutely not. Seriously.
Please don't clean for the cleaning company. You don't need to hide the laundry, apologize for the dishes, or spend the night before your appointment trying to make your home look βpresentableβ for us.
We need to see your home as it actually is so we can help with what you actually need.
No apologies. No embarrassment. No pre-cleaning required. That's what we're here for.
That's okay. Really.
Bandana Girl Cleaning Co. isn't only for homes that need a little dusting and vacuuming. We specifically welcome the homes that feel overwhelming, heavily cluttered, neglected, or simply too far gone to tackle alone.
Maybe life got busy. Maybe things piled up gradually. Maybe you've been struggling with the space for years. Maybe you woke up one day, looked around, and thought, βHow did it get this bad?β
You don't owe us an explanation or an apology.
We'll start with where things are right now, figure out where you want them to be, and make a realistic plan for getting there.
Some projects take a few hours. Others take days or require multiple visits. That's exactly why we offer FREE, judgment-free estimates for larger and more complicated projects.
If you're embarrassed to call us because of the condition of your home, you're probably exactly the kind of person we created this service for. π
Routine Cleaning is $30 per hour with a 3-hour minimum. Standard cleaning products, tools, and equipment are included, so you don't need to provide supplies or even a vacuum.
That means the minimum Routine Cleaning appointment is $90.
Deep cleaning, move-in/move-out cleaning, extreme clutter, cleanouts, and other specialized projects may require an estimate because the amount of work can vary dramatically from one home to another.
Those estimates are completely FREE and judgment-free.
We'd rather look at what your home actually needs and give you a realistic estimate than slap a one-size-fits-all price on a job we haven't seen.
No confusing packages. No guessing games. Just honest pricing based on the work your home needs.
Nope!
You are welcome to be home during your cleaning, but you certainly don't have to rearrange your entire day just to supervise us wielding a vacuum. π
If you won't be home, we'll arrange a safe way to access the property ahead of time, such as a door code, lockbox, key, or another agreed-upon method.
For routine cleaning, once we know what you'd like done, you're free to go about your day while we get to work.
For decluttering, extreme-clutter projects, and cleanouts, we may occasionally need you available by phone or in person to make decisions about belongings. We can also establish guidelines beforehand and set questionable items aside for you to review later.
You don't need to watch us work. We just need to know how to reach you if your stuff starts asking complicated questions. ππ¦
We sure do!
Bandana Girl Cleaning Co. brings the standard cleaning products, tools, and equipment needed for your service, including a vacuum when needed.
You don't need to run out and buy cleaning chemicals before we arrive. Frankly, making you clean and shop for cleaning supplies before hiring a cleaning company would be a fairly ridiculous business model. π
If you have a particular product you'd prefer us to use, just let us know. We're happy to discuss it as long as the product is appropriate and safe for the surface being cleaned.
Some specialized projects may require additional products, protective equipment, or supplies. If that's the case, we'll discuss it with you as part of your estimate.
You provide the mess. We'll bring the cleaning arsenal. π§Ήπ§€π
First, we make a plan together. We'll talk about what you're hoping to accomplish, what areas need the most attention, and how you'd like decisions about your belongings handled.
Once work begins, items may be sorted into categories such as keep, donate, relocate, recycle, discard, or review with you.
And here's something important to know:
Your space may look WORSE before it looks better.
During an active cleanout, we may need to pull belongings out of closets, cabinets, drawers, boxes, or piles so we can actually see what we're working with and sort everything properly.
Walking into the room halfway through can be a little like walking into surgery halfway through the procedure. You're seeing the process, not the finished result.
Or, as we prefer to put it:
βBecause we're sorting your life into categories, Brenda. Give us five minutes.β ππ¦
We promise there's a method to the madness. Once the sorting and decision-making are finished, we can begin putting the space back together in a way that actually makes sense.
Trust the process. We're working toward calm, not creating more chaos. π
Not without a plan and your permission.
Decluttering does not mean we walk into your home with contractor bags and start deciding what deserves to survive. π
Before a decluttering or cleanout project begins, we'll talk with you about what can be discarded and how you'd like questionable items handled.
You may choose to pre-authorize certain categories of obvious trash or disposable items, which allows us to keep working without asking you about every empty package or clearly disposable item we encounter.
Anything we're uncertain about can be placed in a review area for you to decide later.
Items that appear valuable, sentimental, financially important, personally identifying, or otherwise questionable will not knowingly be discarded without your approval.
When in doubt, we ask.
Our goal is to help you reclaim your space, not make decisions about your belongings behind your back. π
Sometimes, yes, especially for larger or specialized projects.
Photos can be extremely helpful during estimates, deep cleans, decluttering projects, and extreme cleanouts. They allow us to document the starting condition of a space, prepare for the work, track progress, and see just how far we've come.
We may also take photos during a project because a major transformation doesn't always happen in one dramatic before-and-after jump. Sometimes there's a whole lot of sorting, bagging, scrubbing, and controlled chaos in between. πΈπ§Ή
But here's the important part:
Allowing us to take photos for estimates or project documentation does NOT automatically give us permission to post them publicly.
Permission to use photos on our website, social media, advertising, or other public materials is separate. You can absolutely allow us to document your project while saying no to public sharing.
When clients do give us permission to share their transformations, we'll make reasonable efforts to protect their privacy and avoid showing identifying information.
Your transformation may be amazing enough to show off. Whether we actually show it off is your decision. ππΈ
You don't need to be. And you definitely don't need to apologize to us.
We understand that homes can become overwhelming for all kinds of reasons. Sometimes it happens slowly. Sometimes life changes faster than the house can keep up. And sometimes a person simply reaches a point where they need another set of hands.
We're not coming into your home to decide how it got that way or what you should have done differently.
We're interested in what we can do next.
You won't hear us gasp, lecture you, make jokes at your expense, or compare your home to somebody else's. What we see in your home stays professional and is treated with respect.
And please don't spend the night before your estimate frantically trying to make the house look better for us. We need to see what you actually need help with.
If making that first call or submitting that first request feels difficult, that's okay. You don't need to have a plan yet.
You just need to be ready for things to start getting better. We'll help with the rest. π
For services that can't reasonably be priced from a simple hourly rate, we'll arrange a FREE, judgment-free estimate so we can understand what your home and project actually need.
During the estimate, we'll look at things such as the size and condition of the space, amount of clutter or buildup, accessibility, type of cleaning needed, disposal needs, and the amount of time we reasonably expect the project to take.
We may take photos during the estimate to help us document the space, plan the project, and prepare an accurate estimate. Those photos are for business and project documentation and will not automatically be published or used for marketing.
This is also your opportunity to show us your biggest concerns, tell us what you'd like accomplished, and ask questions.
And no, you do not need to clean before your estimate. Please don't hide the very things you're asking us to help with. That would be like tidying up before showing the mechanic where your car is leaking. π
After we've evaluated the project, we'll explain the proposed scope of work and pricing so you can decide whether you'd like to move forward.
An estimate is a conversation, not a commitment. There's no charge, no judgment, and no obligation to book. ππ§Ή
The wonderfully inconvenient answer is: it depends on the home. π
Routine cleaning is booked by the hour with a 3-hour minimum, and we'll work through the agreed-upon cleaning priorities during your scheduled time.
Deep cleaning, move-in/move-out cleaning, decluttering, and extreme-clutter projects can vary considerably. The size of the space, condition of the home, amount of buildup or clutter, number of belongings requiring decisions, accessibility, and the overall scope of work can all affect how long a project takes.
Some projects can be transformed in a single visit. Others may require a full day, multiple days, or several scheduled visits to complete properly.
For larger projects, we'll use your estimate to develop a realistic plan and discuss the anticipated time involved before work begins.
And when we're dealing with clutter, faster isn't always better. We would rather work carefully through your belongings than race through the project just to make the clock look impressive.
The goal isn't simply to finish fast. It's to make meaningful progress and leave you with a space that actually feels better. ππ§Ή
Pets are absolutely welcome. πΎπ
Just let us know ahead of time what furry, feathered, or otherwise opinionated residents we'll be meeting.
Friendly pets can usually remain in the home during service as long as they're comfortable with unfamiliar people, cleaning equipment, and noise and aren't preventing us from working safely.
If your pet is nervous, protective, aggressive, likely to escape, or deeply committed to attacking vacuum cleaners, we ask that they be safely secured in another area while we work.
Please also tell us about anything we should know beforehand, such as a pet that must not be allowed outside, an indoor cat who specializes in door-related prison breaks, or an animal that needs a little extra space around strangers.
We want your pets safe and comfortable too. They're part of the home we're being trusted with. πΆπ±π§Ή
Tell us ahead of time if you know it's there, but don't assume it automatically means we won't help.
We understand that difficult home situations can sometimes involve things beyond ordinary dirt and clutter, including pest activity, animal or human waste, needles or sharps, significant mold, hazardous chemicals, broken glass, structural hazards, or other potentially unsafe conditions.
Depending on what we encounter, we may need to use additional protective equipment, change how part of the project is handled, or recommend that a properly qualified professional address a particular hazard before we continue.
If we discover an unexpected safety issue after work begins, we may temporarily stop work in that area while we determine the safest way to proceed.
Please don't hide a hazardous condition because you're afraid we'll judge you or refuse the job. Knowing about it beforehand actually gives us a better chance to prepare appropriately.
Bandana Girl isn't afraid of a serious mess. We just believe tackling one should involve a plan rather than bravery, rubber gloves, and questionable life choices. ππ§€
Tell us what we're walking into. We'll figure out the safest next step together. π

Life happens. We understand.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact us as soon as possible so we have an opportunity to offer your reserved time to another client.
For Routine Cleaning, the $90 minimum booking payment is due at least 48 hours before your appointment and is applied toward your cleaning service. It is not an additional fee.
If you cancel or request to reschedule at least 48 hours before your appointment, your booking payment may be refunded or transferred to your new appointment.
Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the appointment, missed appointments, or situations where we cannot access the home at the scheduled time may result in the booking payment being non-refundable.
Genuine emergencies happen, and we'll always try to handle unusual circumstances reasonably.
And if we ever have to cancel your appointment, your booking payment is never forfeited. You can transfer it to the rescheduled service or receive a refund.
The advance payment isn't there to punish anyone for having a life. It simply protects time we've reserved specifically for you. π
Wanting your home to change and being ready for the process of changing it aren't always the same thing.
Decluttering and extreme cleanouts require more than cleaning. They often involve sorting belongings, making decisions, letting some things go, temporarily disrupting spaces, and allowing us to work through areas that may have been overwhelming for a long time.
You don't need to be ready to throw everything away. That's not what we want. You don't even need to know exactly what the finished space should look like yet.
But you do need to be willing to participate in the process and accept that meaningful change usually requires some decisions along the way.
Ask yourself:
Am I ready to let someone help me?
Am I willing to make decisions about at least some of my belongings?
Can I tolerate the space temporarily looking worse while it's being sorted?
Am I willing to let go of things I've decided I no longer need?
Am I looking for actual change, rather than simply moving everything around?
If you're thinking, βI want this to be different, but I honestly don't know where to start,β that's okay. You don't need to know how to do it. That's where we come in.
We've created a short βAre You Ready?β questionnaire specifically for decluttering and extreme-mess projects. It isn't a test, and there are no perfect answers. It's simply designed to help you and us determine what kind of help you're ready for right now.
Being overwhelmed doesn't mean you aren't ready. Being ready simply means you're willing to begin. π
Start by telling us a little about what you need.
Complete our short Service Request Form and give us an idea of what you're looking for, whether that's routine cleaning, a deep clean, move-in/move-out cleaning, decluttering, or help with a seriously overwhelming space.
Once we receive your request, we'll review it and determine the best next step. For routine cleaning, that may mean getting you scheduled. For larger or specialized projects, we'll contact you about arranging your FREE estimate.
If you're considering decluttering or an extreme cleanout and aren't quite sure whether you're ready for the process, you can also complete our βAre You Ready?β questionnaire first.
You don't need to have everything figured out before you contact us. That's kind of the point of asking for help. π
Ready when you are. Let's get started.
